International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day – Meet the Women of Kato Martial Arts
Martial arts is more than just movement—it’s about resilience, confidence, and the journey of self-improvement. At Kato Martial Arts, we are fortunate to have an inspiring group of women and girls who bring determination, positivity, and encouragement to every class.
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating some of the incredible women and young girls in our club—each with their own unique story of perseverance, personal growth, and motivation.

Diana – The Determined
Diana brings energy and enthusiasm to every session. She is committed, focused, and always ready to take on a new challenge. Beyond training, she plays a vital role in running the club’s admin, keeping everything running smoothly. An integral part of the group, she’s also a formidable training partner, pushing others to be their best.
Sue – Proving Age is Just a Number
At 67 years old, Sue is a true testament to lifelong learning. She took on the challenge of martial arts later in life and has embraced it wholeheartedly.

Jacqueline – Finding Strength in Every Step
Balancing motherhood, marathon training, and martial arts, Jacqueline thrives on new challenges and is dedicated to personal growth.
Kerry-Ann – A Journey of Resilience
In April 2024, Kerry-Ann was diagnosed with cancer, facing the daunting reality of a hysterectomy and its emotional toll. Struggling with uncertainty and stress, she turned to Kato Martial Arts alongside her family, finding strength, confidence, and a much-needed emotional outlet for her mental health.

Scarlett – Brave, Bold, and Unstoppable
At 8 (nearly 9!) years old, Scarlett proves that challenges don’t define you—how you face them does. Living with ADHD, anxiety, and hearing loss, she once felt self-conscious about her hearing aid, but through Kato Martial Arts, she has gained confidence and found a place where she can thrive.
Celebrating Strength in All Forms
These women and young girls are determined, inspiring, and supportive. They show that martial arts is for everyone, no matter their age, background, or life circumstances. Their journeys remind us that strength isn’t just about physical ability—it’s about growth, commitment, and believing in yourself.
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate all the women in Kato Martial Arts and beyond who continue to push their limits, embrace new challenges, and inspire those around them.
💪 Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we train with them, may we be them. 💪
