By The Numbers: 207 Lessons, 3 Major Awards, and 1 Year of Evolution

They say you can’t manage what you don’t measure. As we close the door on 2025, we took a look back at the numbers to see exactly what “Evolution” looks like on paper.

This year wasn’t just about changing our name to Kato Martial Arts; it was about raising the standard of what a martial arts club should be. We wanted to prove that you can have a friendly, family-oriented club that is also professionally recognized and rigorously safe.

Here is the breakdown of our year on the mats:

The Headlines

  • 207 Lessons Taught: Rain or shine, we showed up. That is hundreds of hours of sweat, focus, and discipline delivered by our team.

  • 100+ Active Students: Our family has officially hit triple figures! This is our biggest milestone yet.

  • 71 New Belts Earned: Progression is the name of the game. 71 times, a student stood up, demonstrated their skills under pressure, and leveled up.

Raising The Standard: Awards & Accreditation Numbers on the mat are great, but what happens behind the scenes matters just as much. This year we secured three major markers of quality:

  1. BMABA Accreditation: We are proud to be fully accredited by the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association. This ensures we are held to the highest professional standards in the UK.

  2. Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts: We have been recognized for our commitment to student safety, adhering strictly to the Safeguarding Code. This is the gold standard for protecting our members, especially the children.

  3. Club Colours Award: We were honored to receive the Club Colours Award, recognizing our dedication to the sport and our community.

The “Safety First” Stat

  • 0 Bones Broken: 😎 With all that high-intensity training, Sport Kumite, and weapons work, we maintained a perfect safety record. This proves that with the right instruction and the right safeguards, you can train hard without getting hurt.

Building For The Future

  • 1 New Assistant Instructor: We aren’t just building students; we are building leaders. Promoting from within ensures the Kato legacy continues.

2025 was the year we laid the foundations. If we can achieve this much in 12 months—growing to 100 students while securing top-tier accreditation—imagine what we can do in 2026.

See you on the mats,

Master Fowden
